###Please only post your suggestions for additional features for the Term-Lab USB and Term-Lab.Net systems.###

Qualifying runs should be recorded to the hundreth of a db to insure the loudest is 1st qualifyier etc. Right now it puts the first person to qualify in the higher place if scores are the same.

The software should automatically countdown 5 minutes for ties. At 30 seconds left in that 5 minutes, the computer should anounce that the tiebreaker is about to start and then countdown from 10 seconds on. This way there is a visual and audio cues for the competitors.

Id really like it to have the ability to measure T/S parameters.I remember Wayne saying the hardware was in the box, but no software.
IT would be really great [Smile]

I would really like to see Term-Lab incorporate a volt meter and Tach. When we were judging shows we used to have several monitors set up so that the crowd and competitors could see them. I think that showing voltage and RPM's would have added to the show, not to mention that it could aid in the judging itself. Yes it may take a few more minutes to hook up but if the rules are going to be inforced we need a way to test these things. The voltmeter mounted seperatly does seem to work but doesnt add to the show. I have yet to have seen anybody checking RPM's at any show. If a person goes over voltage or over RPM's it could flash DQed the display board. It would also be great if there was a way to store world records and when one was broken to have that do something special.

ITS ALL ABOUT THE SHOW THIS YEAR. Lets make it as good as possible.

Yes please ! On the USB version too [Big Grin]

The DMM Equivalency table would be nice.
An easier to understand averaging system in SPL mode would be good too (IE. input a time frame that it averages over, instead of X samples).

Auto-detect for attached mics would be good too.. so if you have 1 mic it only has 1 display, if you have 2 then it shows 2 etc. Occationally I get together with my buddies and we run 2 lanes for testing. (Its just one of those nice to have features).

1) More leader board options
a) display the words - qualifing, quarter, semi-final, finals before each actual run
b) display short messages such as registration until 1 p.m., registration $20., db drag racing brought to you by music masters

2) use of mp3
short bursts of audio from the computer mp3 player. Messages can be recorded to say special db drag racing and bass race announcements.

i REALLY like that idea of having a Voltmeter, and no it has nothing to do with the incident at wf. just think it would be nice to be able to see what voltage is being used, and drops, flucuation. and well, it would help judging [Big Grin]

I would like to see the sensors unlock like the features. If you buy one sensor you get one input unlocked only. Buy 2 and unlock 2.

I have just received my dual Termlab Sensors + RTA software and it all seems quite good.

As far as future improvements I would love to see the following (and maybe they exist and I just don’t know about them)
- When I minimise the oscilloscope on channel A & B the remaining 2 displays on each side become larger inc the SPL readout which is good, but the SPL readout becomes too thin and the numbers too fat and hard to read. It’s just a font issue I think. Would be nice to see the numbers appear larger and easier to read when the oscilloscope is turned off. The new update just released may correct this problem?

For the RTA side of it there is a coupe of things I would like to have
- Peak hold, similar to the old Coustic meters where it takes a reading for about 3 seconds and then holds the highest points so you can tune based on that rather than always looking at it in real time. You then remeasure, again using peak hold.
- The ability to change the display so that it shows 31/32bands at 1/3 rd octave points in sync with the points on most 31band EQ’s. Since most of the time your using an EQ to try to flatten out peaks and toughs it would be good to be able to view the readout that way.
- I currently have to have my termlab interface box plugged in before i can load the program and use the RTA. Once loaded i can unplug the interface box as it is not needed. It would be good to be able to load it directly without having to plug the SPL interface box in.

Pictured below are 2 displays that would be a good readout format for the 31bands but the points shown don’t align with the points that most EQ’s have

Bar’s could be something like @
25, 31, 40, 50, 63, 80, 100, 125, 160, 200, 250, 315, 400, 500, 630, 800, 1k, 1.25k, 1.6k, 2k, 2.5k, 3.15k, 4k, 5k, 6.3k, 8k, 10k, 12.5k, 16k, 20k

I wish there was a World record and a "national" record future in TERMLAB...
So when there is a possible record, you are getting notified by TERMLAB.

However all the records need to be manually updatet by the event promotor before the event...

Thats a great idea Kris for World records updates... But I will also see a "national" record system, because most of the countires have their own "records"... Then we (The event promotors) don't need to have alot of papers to "look at" every time there may be a new record... [Smile]

well for when i host "generic shows" not db drag, meca etc. Id like to be able to list the competitiors in the computer and so forth. that would be cool. especially when you use speech. it has the real organizations name on it. lol

I suggest an tear up and tear down time option .

When 2 cars are in the lane the tear up time starts .
Example for street cars 3 minutes .
Street car nr 1 is in the lanes . At the moment Street car nr 2 is in the lanes the tear up time starts . After the 3 minutes are gone the termlab starts automaticly the 30 seconds count down .
During these 3 minutes the judges have enough time to place the sensor , check voltage .
When the 3 minutes are up and the voltage is not below 14v , or door open , radio not ready ,DQ .

Same for SS , but they have podiums , so 4 minutes . Extreme 5 minutes .

This prevents long waiting periods for the judges and competitors .

Maybe leave an option for the judge to start the 30 sec count down when both competitors are ready when there is still 1 min+ on the tear up countdown , or when they find out a cable is damaged they can pause the clock and repair it .

This would be ideal for 3x events . Seen alot of waiting at last eurfinals .

Wayne, new idea for termlab...

Make a competitor database in TERMLAB, then we, the event promotors, can "find" the competitors from a list, maybe make a "number", so each competitor has their own "startnumber"....

In this competitor database, we can submit what kind of equipment used in each contestants car (when register competitors), and after an event we can make a PDF file or print out with statistics over witch product used in that event. (# of competitors in that event and classes, speakers, headunits, mulimedia, subwoofers, amps, cabels, batteries, radios, dvd, mp3 players etc) Celise can problaby make some nice graphics on it aswell...

After the "season" is over or a cup or something else is over (for exampel XM shows) you can chose witch event that you want to "add" to the statistics, so that you can get statistics for one event, some events, or all events...

All our distributors/sponsors in Norway likes statistics, so I will guess that in every country its the same...

I think this will make us get more sponsors to dB Drag Racing/Bass Race, and that the distributors/factories will see that there is all kinds of products used in dB Drag Racing. Most of them think that its only "extreme" stuff and special equipment that is used, but that is not true.. [Smile]
