For any of you damageplan or pantera fans, didn't know if you heard about this yet, but last nite in ohio in a club as damageplan was going on stage to perform there first song, a dude jumped on stage made a remark about pantera and then proceeded to pull out a gun and shoot dimebag several times killing him and then turning on the crowd and killing 4 others before police shot and killed the gunman. This is a sad day in music, especially metal. I feel for dimebag's family and especially his brother vinnie paul, who witnessed the whole thing.

I play guitar and he was the reason...I'm very very sad about his whole situation.
Cemetary Gates
Reverend reverend is this some conspiracy? Crucified for no sins An image beneath me Whats within our plans for life It all seems so unreal I'm a man cut in half in this world Left in my misery...
The reverend he turned to me Without a tear in his eyes It's nothing new for him to see I didn't ask him why I will remember The love our souls had Sworn to make Now I watch the falling rain All my mind can see Now is your (face)
Well I guess You took my youth I gave it all away Like the birth of a New-found joy This love would end in rage And when she died I couldn't cry The pride within my soul You left me incomplete All alone as the memories now unfold.
Believe the word I will unlock my door And pass the Cemetery gates
Sometimes when I'm alone I wonder aloud If you're watching over me Some place far abound I must reverse my life I can't live in the past Then set my soul free Belong to me at last
Through all those Complex years I thought I was alone
I didn't care to look around And make this world my own And when she died I should've cried and spared myself some pain... You left me incomplete All alone as the memories still remain
The way we were The chance to save my soul And my concern is now in vain Believe the word I will unlock my door And pass the cemetery gates

Yeah really sucks I know Pantera was always out in the public eye here whether it be at their strip club, or just supporting other local bands. Sad to see so many good Dallas bands have losses so often...Drowning Pool then this. I cant believe people can be so psycho to kill someone cause of music

A sad day in metal history for sure. I first heard this about an hour and a half ago and I'm still kinda in shock.

I heard about it last night on another forum I'm guessing right after it happened. I thought it was a rumor cause I saw no news coverage of it yet. Then this morning I read the news online. Very very sad day.

I watched the second half of HBB and saw not one mention of Dime...and Jamie Josta was hosting it.
Now, Fuse had a couple Uraniums dedicated to him that I saw.

Obviously it would seem you would want this post to remain open. I tried to save it. As another moderator of this forum feels this post should be locked, I will keep it locked. Obviously you totally misunderstood what I was doing. Next time PM me before you start complaining; maybe this post could have stayed open.

Note: Thank you for the PM - this issue has been handled. Again, thank you for keeping the side discussion in PM.

Although I'm a huge fan of PanterA and Dimebag, I know not everyone cared for PanterA (just like I don't particularly care for Rap, R&B, Top 40, etc.). However, just like I won't slander a post about a Rapper's passing, please do not ruin this thread for those who enjoyed the gift that Dimebag had. RIP Dimebag!!
For those people wishing to make a donation in Dimebag's name, two special memorial funds have been established. The Dimebag Darrell Memorial Fund has been set up to cover bereavement and medical expenses for John "Kat" Brooks, Chris Paluska, and Jeffrey "Mayhem" Thompson.
