Today I wired up a set of infinity references in my friends doors powered by a 2 channel concept amp. I ran 2 16 gauge wires from my amp and spliced them into the stock wiring harness. I left the front speaker wires on the deck insulated. The rear speakers are being powered off of the deck. Now heres my problem. When I go to lower the volume its still pretty loud, its not very sensitive. And I cant fade the sound to the front/balance them. Should I have the speaker wires from the deck also hooked up to the wiring harness in order for the deck to actually have some control? Thanks in advance. Later/joe

how are you hooking up the 2 channel amp that powers the new speakers? What are you using to provide the signal to the amp? RCA's? If so how many does the HU have and which are you using if multiples? Depending on the answers to your questions it could be a few things. Im leaning towards the fact that you hooked an amp up, to RCA's that are getting full signal and then being crossed over. In this case you will lose the fade/gain capibility because you are not using the source of either 1, the HU's front speak level as an imput or 2, the deck dosnt have a set of RCA's for front output. But then again. You never know.

The problem is in your signal wires. Option 1: remove the RCA's all together, and use the high-level inputs. Option 2: Buy an RCA splitter and run the RCA's out to both amps. You will lose fade capability. Option 3: If you have them, use the RCA pre-outs from your amp, and run them in to the front speakers. You will lose fade capability. Option 4: If the Head unit has front RCA outputs, use them.
