This is really getting on my nerves. Ive installed several stereos, but this one is killing me. Im installing an Alpine cd player. Ive wired the harness to the cd player, double checked everything, and still no sound from the speakers. The Cd player comes on, plays a cd, does everything its supposed to, but no sound from the speakers. So....I tried to re-install the factory cd player, guess what, no sound. But it comes on. Does anyone know what the deal is? Could a fuse be the problem? i dont know much about late model cars, when it comes to electrical systems at least. I figured it would be plug and play just like any other. Hell, I dont even know where the fuse box is!!!!! Oh yeah, this isnt my car, thats why its realy pissing me off. Any help would be appreciated.

Yup Im using a store bought wiring harness. And the car does have a "premium" sound system that came factory. I was thinking it was a fuse, but I cant find the fuse box, yeah im an idiot. Im trying to save my friend some money, so if anyone has any idea where the fuses are located on this car, please let me know. To hell with early model electrical systems.

Did you hook the blue/white stripe(or only blue if 1 blue wire) wire from the CD player to the blue/white stripe wire on the harness(amp turn on)?

If you are looking for the fuse box in that car it should be right under one of the panels under the steering column on the driver side of the dash. I think you have to pull a panel under the steering wheel to get fuse access..

Actually I didnt hook up the amp turn on lead to the harness. I might give that a try. But im really thinking it was a fuse, since the factory radio will come on but no sound comes from the speakers. When I mean no sound, I mean absolutly no sound. Thanks for the advice on the fuses, I guess im going to be pulling some panels later on.

Check the fuses first but you do have to hook the amp turn on wire up for the amplified premium system or it won't turn the factory amp on with the new radio. [Smile]
