i have a high pitched crackle in my comps that it only there when the enigne is on (engine noise lol) and ran the rca down one side the power wire down another and speaker wires down both sides (but not near the power wire). the noise is very harsh at an idle but it dulls out when i give the engine gas. what could it be???

you might want to check the ground and make sure that it is totally connected to bare metal and if you can seal it so that it cannot rust. i had something like that and when i regrounded everything sounded great and no alternator hiss.

buy a better rca its probably picking up noise from the factory wires. and while your running that back to your amps run a small gauge ground wire grounded at your deck back to the ground at your amp.
