ok not sure whats wrong, any help would be appreciated
my amps arnt getting voltage for some reason, i have checked with a meter to make sure the ground is good and i am getting voltage on the positive wire from the battery, with the positive disconnected from the amps and checking voltage from the posistive and frame i get 12-14 volts, when i connect the positive to the amp i get a reading of 0, i have no clue whats going on
i have a s-10 extended cab, amps are 2 clarion 400.2
any ideas would be apprciated

Sounds like a wiring problem. Recheck your ground. Recheck the +12 volts. You may have a bad connection that opens up under a load. Hook up the amp, and if its not smoking do the following.
measure dc voltage from the +12 volt wire while it is connected to the amp to a good ground, and also to the ground at the amp. If both measure +12 volt and around the same volt the ground wiring is most likely ok.
Now measure the voltage at the battery. Keep the lead on the positive and move the other to the ground of the amp(you may need to add about 10 ft of wire to the meter lead to do so). Both should read the same. If not the problem is with the power wire.
If you still have a problem disconnect the power and ground wire forom the amp and read from the postive wire at the battery to the end of the power wire at the amp end . It should read less than a few ohms. Do the same for the ground wire too.

hook the amp back up, then check the voltage at both sides of the fuse holder. If there is voltage at the battery side and not at the amp side then the fuse is blown and with no load a very small amount of current may be going through the fragments of the fuse.
If there is no voltage on the battery side, your connection at the battery or the fuse is bad. Clean and re-attach
If there is voltage on both sides of the fuse, well, there is a break in the wire somewhere between the fuse holder and the amp.
Hope this helps........
