When building a sealed box let say (ext dim.) 15x14x42 for 3 12s is it better to have the box with fewest parrallel sides becuase of cancelation?? i am sure (for the most part) not to have a perfect cube because you will have bad cancelation. My Friend Kevin has 3 MTX 6000 12s and needs a box. so with that box 15x14x42 its around 3.8 cubes with bracing and dividers. which would be perfect. Should reconfigure the box to be less square or rectangular and try to be more trazezoidal??

Sorry it's such a simple question but i haven't built a box since June and i forgot. any input please.

The shape of the box does not matter as long as it has the correct internal volume. Subwoofers play too low to have standing waves and/or cancellation unless the box is huge.

I don't know the exact rules, but I have heard to stay away from perfect sqaure boxes, and also to mount woofers off-center.

i have made two perfectly cubed boxes each 1.0ft sealed and both seemed to hammer hard with not signs of the bass being cancelled out infact my single aw1005 with 800 watts is louder than two 10" pioneers with 150 watts each i know its more power but if there was alot of cancellation it sure was very very minimal.

I don't think you will have to worry about cancellation unless you have a 15 ft long box or something, but then again, on JL's site it says something about not using a cube and using braces to break up standing waves.
