I just went out and found some used lightning audio 12" subs (p.12.4's) at best buy for $20 a piece. I bought the service thing so I can take them back if they blow. The thing is though, I can't get them to blow... I put them on my amp, and they blew my amp's fuse . Its a war, me vs. the subs, and the subs are taking a good lead. Right now I have them plugged up to a 200 watt amp playing fully clipped 10 hz signals... but no luck. If I plug them into the wall, will it set my house on fire?

I remember watching a pair of RF 8's on a d2 playing 25hz sweeps, it was pretty cool, they did last longer than I expected, and eventually the coils seized, but no smoke, I was truely disappointed. However I had 180watts on a pioneer 12 in an infinite baffle in my camaro and it smoked in less than 2 minutes, and the sub was rated at 200wrms/400max.

good luck with that...their service plan don't cover abuse....i separated the spider from the frame on my Vega 124 once, but convinced 'em it was a manufacturing defect.....but if the voice coil smokes, you're out of a sub and a service plan , because abuse voids it...just thought i'd give you a head up based on my experiences
