I'm going to be buying a Samson S-1500 home amp pretty soon. 1,500 watts, 2 channel stereo so 750 x 2 at 4 ohms. Was leaning on hooking up 2 15w3s to it. Basically I'm looking for super low bass at huge output levels. Something similiar to SVS home subs. If anybody has any ideas or suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

For super low and loud, I would say large ported tuned LOW. If you want to keep the uttermost sound quality though, sealed might be a better option. all depends on what you want.

Someone was telling me about a guy using a 13W7 DVC for home theatre. The box was ported, 4 ft^3.... and apparently was just amazing.

mtxbird - i saw it on one site for $469. Don't know if they're trustworthy or not, but looked okay.

how low is LOW? 15 Hz? 25 Hz? I'm thinking about putting a car sub in a ported box on my home system to have more output than that dang 6 inch sub in a ported box. A JL 15w4 in 5 cubes should do the trick. How low?

Bear in mind that with that amount of power it would be easy to overexcurt the sub in the wrong box.

I'll try to model it tomorrow. Is this for a very large room or a normal sized one?

I was thinking 20hz would be low. Not a lot of movies tend to go below that. I'm wanting a lot of output in the 20-30hz region. Something similiar toSVS Subwoofers. What do you think the 15w3s output capability at 16hz would be? This would be in a normal sized room.

There is a Samson S-1000 too. Would 500 watts per sub be better?

i think you'll get a great sounding home entertainment system with that. i say build a 7.0ft^3 ported tuned to 21hz. those 15w3's will produce fukken amazing bass notes for your dvd's or tape videos. good choice of subs too. i wonder how that'll sound in horror/suspense movies... ahhhhh watch out.
