I posted this because obviously Dukk cannot reply to my other post.I would just like someone to help me design an enclosure for my subs. This ABC box has got my interest peaked as well and i know there are a few other guys around here that know some stuff so here are the specs:

Resonant Freq.(fo,Fs) 23.59Hz
Qms 4.523
Qes .510
Qts .450
Vas 82.31L 2.54cu.ft.
Sensitivity 86dB
Freq.Response 20-200Hz
Xmax - Linear: .343"
8.7mm
Xmax - Mechanical: 1"
25.4mm

If you could run these through and tell me if my original box of .88 cu.ft. is way off or what. I remember Dukk saying that it was way to small but i wanna be sure before i spend $50 on a sheet of wood. I like really hard kicking bass, the kind that you feel in your chest. Maybe a ported box is the way to go?I'm not sure, i don't know how to design enclosures, usually i just follow the manufactures suggestions but they never seem to be the best. Thanks to anyone that can help.

Chris

(ok... I'm a little hyper right now, so take my post a step down)

The duration between your two posts are 2 hours and 32 minutes... not everyone has access to a computer nor the time sometimes (not even me)...

If you give them a few days, I'm sure somone could help you...

$50 for a "SHEET" of wood? whats it made of, Diamond? under $20 for A SHEET of wood is common.

I know I jumped the gun there man and obviously the way i came out looking was totally the opposite of what i wanted. I was trying to sound as less demanding as possible because i don't expect any help, any help that someone can give me i consider a gift. I was basically just trying to make the post look active because i figured everyone was kind of just passing it off.

Oh yah and over at the Home Depot here a sheet of MDF 3/4" is like 39.99 plus tax which will come to around 45 or so.

EvanZ Dukk lost his lap top and has no desk top yet so he will be a way for a while.

I aint got a fancy progam to tell you the ported box size you need for them woofer but if you find that out the following should exsplaine it all.

Here is a past post I had should give you all you need to know

quote:
What you need to do is find out what the largest size enclosure you woofer will work in ported. Then with that find out what size ports you whould use if you where to use two ports. That I can help with the box size I can not. Port formula is as folows.
Port length=[(8466.4*R^2)/(Vb*Fb^2)]-(1.463*R)
R = radius of port (in)
Vb = volume of box (Ft^3)
Fb = tuning frequency. (Hz)
gust take your box size and divid it buy two to get the size for each port.
Now that you have the size for two ports cut a third one the same size these are your three ports. You also have your box size too right. Take that and divid it buy 1/3 i.e. If you had a box that was 3Ft^3 then you get 1Ft^3. The total box size will equal the origonal size when done. Main box being 2Ft^3 and other have being 1Ft^3. Dukk said though be carful with the size of the box and make sure to acount for diver displacment and port displacment in the box. Get one wrong and it will not work right. After all of that woffer and one port in 2/3 side of box and one port in the 1/3 side and one port between them.

I live in Fox Creek AB and I get it for $37 for a sheet of 3/4 MDF... No need for thanks for the help, thats why I am here... Those subs are 10"s right??? You will only really need 5/8 MDF for those, I have used 5/8 for 12"s with a butt load of power and never had a problem...
