i am getting ready to build one box that will hold 2 10's and a 12 all in seperate chambers.the 10's require 2 ports 2.5 x 12.2. my deepest part in the box will be 12" and that is the side of the box. the front where the sub is is only 10" deep.how do i figure how to change the port size or length to make it work. also on the 12 it requires a 4x1o.75 port. my deepest part of the box for the 12 is 26" on the length or the side being 14", is this ok or should all ports be on the same surface as the subs.any help will be greatly appriciated. thanx

you could make the ports outside the box and just subtract this displacment from you net box size. Or get some 90 degree PCV elbows so you could like go 5inches down then go left 7 more inches.

You could do right angle ports.

Almost forgot about this one. You could also use a vent.

A vent is a rectangular shap port. I dont have the formulas for them though. Maybe someone out there has it though and will share with all of us. Yes it is a good idea to put the port on the same face of teh woofer but sometimes that is not posable. Dukk and others have said befor to me that porting on a diferent face sometimes is not advoidable.

Here is the formula for figuring Port length
Port length=[(8466.4 * R^2)/(Vb*Fb^2)]-(1.463 * R)

R = radius of port
Vb = volume of box
Fb = tuning frequency.

For you 10" using two port divid the Vb buy 1/2 befor using it in teh fourmula. That will give you the lenght for one of your two ports. Try puting a 2" port in. Or let us know how big your box is in Vol.
