Hey there everyone. Looking for some suggestions. I have emailed orion awaiting a response also. This is what I am getting and want a suggestion on a box for. I am getting a single HCCA 15 and a single 275rHCCA. The amp is will be putting out a rated 1200 watts mono 1 ohm the way it will be wired to the one sub. I am looking for at least acceptable SQ since this is a SQ car. But I also want it to have decent SPL. I know this is possible....Just wanted some suggestions. Also this is going in a 1996 Chevy Cavlier......

Thanks

There is a back seat....BUT the rear seat folds down. The sub will be in the trunk area. The way the sub faces is part of the opinion I am looking for. I know of a similar car that had a single 15 and a single amp that had the sub and the port facing toward the rear of the car doing a very high 140. But they had a 12 and 400 less rated watts.

Pro audio, If it is a sound quality car then id build the SQ box which is a recommended 4cft With 2, 4inch ports 12 inches long. Id face the sub forward, but you have to make an effort to seal off the front of your enclosure from the trunk area. This will allow your sub to play very loud with out opening the trunk, and it lets it play lower. And remember that a HCCA 275 is said to put out 1200 watts, but orion said that it will really do around 1600 watts. www.rdsound.com

Well the think is I have seen some of the boxes Orion recommends for the subs and ya they work but not as good as I have seen my friend 12 go with a tad bit of tweaking...

I have to see..thanks for the advice.

I have done quite a few installs now with systems consisting of 2 12's and 1 15. If you are in it for SQ i WOULD NOT do their recomended enclosure! It SUCKS! It plays lows outstanding, but in most cases it is sloppy and not real loud. All of them lacked the tight punchy bass. I am still trying to find the perfect box. The one most recent was a smaller than recomended and tuned higer for a pair of 12's. It was a little better but was still sloppy. Most of these were powered by either a 250r or a 275r each. If I were you i would go a little smaller on the box and tune it quite a bit higher. Just my opinion though.
