I have a 2004 maxima I am looking to put some subs into. I have an inside track on 2 12w6vs and a Lanzar opti 2000d. I can get all of this for about $350. I really do not want 2 subs as i would like to keep some room. I know the Lanzar will play well at 1 ohm so with just 1 sub I would only be at 2 ohm mono. My question...I have seen 12w6's going for around $300 each on ebay. If I sold these for around that, maybe a little less, is there a good sub that would be loud for $250-$300ish and run well off the Lanzar? Or would I be better off with one 12w6? I am not too familiar with the newer brands..Fi, Cactus, T3 but would one of these work better off that power than the 12w6? I have around 3cf to play with and am looking for mainly spl.

Thanks

All due respect to JL....

Do yourself a favor.... try one of the smaller brands you mentioned and enjoy the benefits.

For that money, you could buy more for your $ elsewhere... competitor direct...

Thats kind of what I was thinking. What would be a good sub to use in the $250 range and would work well on the opti2000d?

I think even the w7 would struggle with that power....
You would need to be responsible on the gain with any woofer in that price range with that amplifier.....

In our woofer, the TSS would do pretty well...
In Fi, probably the BL....

Just gotta keep the power clean and be responsible on the bass boost and gains....
Not familiar with Cactus stuff except for the BIG woofers.

I am not sure i am following you real well. Are your concerns the amount of power or the quality of the power? I understand that the Lazar does not put out the cleanest signal, but I do not think it is too bad. If you mean the amp would be too powerful for a sub in that price range, what sub would you suggest without going to extreme? I am always very conerative with gains/bass boosts/levels. I do not plan on pushing this 100% hard 100% of the time. I just want something to fill out the sound and maybe turn a head ot two here and there. i have not been able to find much on the Fi stuff online but have spent some time on the T3 page. What is the price range and box requirements on the TSS?

Thanks for the help

just remember, buying JL online, you get absolutely no warranty. With the other brands mentioned that you can buy direct...not only will they come with a warranty, but recone kits are available should something every go wrong.

I was concerned with the 2000 watts daily.

If clipped severly, that could damage a woofer daily.... must be ran clean.

The TSS is close to your price range.... PM me for quote.

Box recommended is 1 ft3 sealed or 2.3 ft3 ported.
