Topic: 16 8s or 8 12s 12 cubic feet wall?
HYPER PROS CUZ. both under 300 the 12s being cheaper. the 12s are at 220 the 8s are at 240. I can parallel 8 down to half ohm and strap to that and give the 12s 4kw+ same pretty much with the 8s. Only difference is I doubt I am going to fit much side port with the 8s What do you guys think? 16 8s with 250 watts or 8 12s with 500 watts. That is basicly burp power. Less for daily is probably necessary. Or do you say tens. I want to play real music with it and not sound like fart. Low bass isnt really required. I listen to hardcore, metalcore, weird music. I am considering 10s also. I think I will call to see what shipping is monday. I will probably still pursue sm1-2 seriously but have this as a face change out. I think 16 subs would be fun. 1.3 cubes per 8 or 2 cubes per 12. Ported is probably a must... -------------------- CHAD TYLER Lieutenant Colonel BASS 4star http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2332048 bass is a fish, midrange is a feeling

Well an 8 has about 33 in^2 of cone area and a 12 will have about 82 in^2 of cone area. So 16 eights = approximatly 528 square inches And 8 twelves = approx 656 square inches Not to mention the 12's probably have a greater x-max as well, giving them a further advantage. I think 8's are cool, but I would probably go with the twelves because of the lower cost and greater spl potential. -------------------- 2001 Jeep 4.0L, 2" lift, Old Man Emu shocks 33x10.50 BFG AT's, Aussie Locker Some stereo junk More mods added with every paycheck
