Will probably be looking into upgrading this summer from my 2 RE 18 HCs and get some testing done before iasca finals.

I've got up to 4 cubic feet to work awith per sub (pure SPL application) after all dispacements in the rear cargo area of my blazer.

Power will be an orion 2500d to each...probably run at 0.35 ohm. So maybe 3500-4000 real world watts if i can keep the voltage up.

Which would you pick 9917 or APX 18 and why? Keep in mind i dont expect these subs to be even the least bit musical in that small of a box.

thanks

id prefer to stay away from the soundstream if possible.

its mainly between the atomic and DD because i know local dealers and would like to keep my business with them. Try to keep the local guys alive.

i was thinking also about the APXX's but i dont think id have enough power to fully push them.

i suppose i could switch to 2 15s instead...would make things a little easier and could finally do a side firing box without it being too tall for my liking.

would also probably require totally switching the previous boxes id have made for 2 18s im using for the first half of the year

With that power I would not run the 9917 alot of people say under 6KW go with the 95 series DD's and plus I heard the DD9917 need's 8-10 cube's

9917 need at least 6 cubes 8 seems to be ideal fo SPL but i know people who used as much as 13 and broke records:) but it wasn't a normal regualr ported box install. i say do the 9515 or APX 15 with that power and space. better than that 2 DD 2512s or 3512s with 2500 per for burps, hehe. if you can keep the 2500s under enough throw without blowing them and power compresion dont eat um alive they will be louder.

I say do the two 15"s APX's would work. that isn't much power for super subs though imo unless you're talked 16v feed on them orion 2500ds
