Hi everyone, I need your wisdom yet again! Right now I have my subs firing back at the rear of my car (its a sedan by the way). There is about a foot and a half between the subs and the back of the trunk because I need the trunk space. My questions are: 1) There is a lot of bass (enough the shake the trunk lid loose) but my SQ isn't to great. If I was to face the box at the back of the rear seat would the SQ improve? 2) What if I lay the box on its back with the subs firing strait up at the rear deck? 3) Is the marginal SQ most likely due to the fact that to box is a quater cubic foot to small for each sub? RF recomends a 1.25 cubic foot box per sub, and right now I only have 1 cubic foot per sub. 4) I am planing to make a new box really soon. If I make it 1.25 cubic feet per sub, should I continue to face to subs towards the back of the trunk? By the way, the box is sealed... I dont think I'm ready to build a ported box, and anyway I heard that sealed boxes are beter for SQ.

i built a 1.25 box for my rf 12, and it is firing to the side of my car. ive turned it every direction and sounds the same to me, but im not a pro either. im planning on building a ported box to specs today. hopefuly it will do better.

the only suggetion i have is to put the box in every position possible and pick the best sounding one, the size and shape of your trunk could effect the sound when the sub fire in different directions...i thnk that when your box is to small it can limit cone travel possibly your subs are not playing all freqs
