i just bought "MTX"3000 12" subs i was wondering if i should use a
ported box,i have a 1991 taurs ,also what would be a good amp for
them which is a reasnoble price???oh yeah they are 8ohm

How many 12's do you have? I recomend going with 4 of them since they are 8 ohm. Any amp that puts out atleastaround 400w or greater will do. Try to get a 2 channel amp too. How about apunch 500a2?

are they bad since they are 8ohm???
i only bought 2 ,12" subs ,the dealer said to put them in mono or
something like that what did he mean ???

The 8 ohms are fine. With 2 parallel on a bridged amp it is a nice safe 4 ohm load.

If I had to make a choice between 4 and 8 all I would sell is 8 ohm woofers. For 2 or 3 or 4 they work out better. And for 1, well, most people couldn't tell the difference in power anyway!
