To your opinion, the which of these both woofer's is the best. D&D 9917 Dual 1.5 Ohms vs RE 18MT Dual 1.4 Ohms??? Tank you David

I have a 9917 and have 230 burps on it and still going. Look at the World Records last year I belive that 8 of the classes were held by DD.

You can only compare Treo subs to DD subs. RE is not even close to either one.

The RE MT 18 is more easy to work than a 9917 but i think than the 9917 is maybe more strong than the RE MT 18...........It's sure too than the price isn't the same!!!!!!!!!!The 9917 is more cheap than the RE!!!!!!!!!!! Hey David,for my new instal in Extrem 3/4,i have tested this sub(ha ha but chutttt)and too the APX 18 and the MMATS JUGGERNAUT 18 with 1 USAMPS 6000X bye voice coil .......The best result is with the JUGGERNAUT!!!!!!!!!!Ha ha ha Good luck man.......Do the best choice!!!!!!!

I've owned a 9917 and they are nice and built well,and if you guy's are saying the RE is a chump sub YOUR WRONG!My RE MT 15 will compete with the DD any day and surpass it in some areas,you guys need to play with one,15 or 18,you can get them just as cheap as the DD.IMO the DD,MT,SoloX,and Sig are the baddest SPL machines built.

I'm assuming you've tested all subs in question?
For the record a 9915 that sean had failed i believe 2 times...after being burped off of a pair of tru tech hammers...What was the problem you ask? That tiny copper coil

thats a tough challenge there, i belive danny brittan at finals switched from his dd to mt's (cause of a slight problem) you might wanna get ahold of him and see what his thoughts are on this

x2....I know he switched due to some minor techinical difficulties....But I can tell you he was extremely happy with his score of a 164 in SS 1-2!
At least by the look on his face when the score posted up on the LED looked like he was satisfied
both woofers are extremely loud... both woofers will yield similar results in the hands of capable people..
you don't see capable people on here throwing off on one design, and praising the other..
for some reason, only uncapable people have the ability to say flat out that ___________ is better...
study each woofer, and your situation...
which one is cheaper? which one can be reconed cheaper? which company appears to support their competitors better?
those are more important questions to answer..

Can buy two MTs for the price of one 99 in the UK.
MTs are easier and cheaper to recone aswell.
Havnt used 99s but wont say anything bad about them, they work well in lots of cars.
So do the MTs.
Its a case of seeing whta you can get easier and at what cost.
They will both do very similar numbers, one maybe louder in one car, but the other will be louder in another.
Use both with confidence.

Of course MR BUMP.......For me,just a good work in the car for to do a great score........If the guy don't look the money,for me 9917 is a good choice.....

I'd probably rather have the MT, though I honestly don't give 2 ****s about SPL competition.
