I'm about to make a box for a single Lanzar DC15D subwoofer. I have an Earthquake 200DHC amp at 2ohm mono. These will be in a Nissan 100 Nx Coupe (no cab mods). I'm going for Max SPL.
Any suggestions of PORTED or Bandpass boxes? Not too big though, I have limited space, it's a small car!

I'd like a peak near 50Hz 'cause I've had best #'s around there with my last 2 systems.

It may help dukk if you gave him availible space. meaning measurments. I would imagine to dukk a small space is around 4cuft. But to you it may be 2cuft.

Yeah...It's something like 32"x16"x24" (Width x Height x Depth) That's over 6 cuft of boxspace. I guess that's not a problem.

At first I was actually thinking about a Bandpass with 2 (!) DC15D's. There just isn't enough space...might be enough for a vented...but one DC first and second one maybe later...we'll see.

Not to keep hounding ya but dukk will also need the sub specs.
Just to be specific you have 7.1cuft of space to use.

Here are the specs for DC 15D

Vas 5.700 cuft
Qts 0.25
Fs 32.00 Hz

Sorry. I was supposed to say that i have 34"x16"x24" of space.

to doughboy:
You're right. I have 7.1 cuft of _space_. Actually 7.5 cuft ('cos it's 34" wide). But I still have 6.14 cuft of airspace _inside_ the box. (I use 3/4" MDF) I thought I said _boxspace_ !?

Still something U want to know?

According to TermPak (new on my laptop. YAY ) the Lanzar 15" with those parameters is an LC-15-4D.

Anyways, a vented box is better than bandpass for this woofer. 3 cuft with FOUR 4" ports 12" long each tunes to 50Hz and has most impact at around 58Hz.

Make sure not to run this box below 40Hz though! Actually, to use for everyday, just plug 2 of the vents. This lowers tuning, but the box is still quite oversized so be careful with the real deep notes.

And that's the bottom line, cuz:

Ooops...got the wrong specs..sorry...was supposed to be DC-15-4D. I suppose your TermPak has those specs. It would be nice if you could calculate a box for the DC.

Thanks.

I've decided to buy two DC-12-4D subs, so you could also calculate a box for two of them....Ported ...and of course - max SPL!
