I will have a Punch Power DVC 15's on each Power 800a2. The only thing im not sure about is how to wire it. If I parallel wire the woofer I get a 2ohm load, but then Ill have to bridge the amp and when you bridge an amp it sees half the impedance which will be 1 ohm, Punch amps are 2ohm stable. I really want to have the amps running mono. Should I series wire the woofer and bridge the amp. How will I get the most power out of the amps?

Parallel the coils for a 2 Ohm load. And wire them to the bridged outputs. What everyone seems to get mixed up is that. Amplifier companies rate their amps into a load. If they say 4Ohm mono or 2Ohm mono that means that you can hook up speakers that equal that load. You do not half that when bridging even though the amp sees half the load on each channel. The 4Ohm load in mono is no diiferent than you splitting the load between two channels as 2Ohms. And I am sick of people getting it confused, or getting others confused with there mis-understandings. I get E-mail on this question everyday.

The way you want to hook it up is fine, however I am sure some one will say no that won't work you are forgetting to cut the load in half....

By the way awesome sub choice I just got my Power 15's a couple of days ago... can you say loud.

While you are 100% correct, RF does not technically rate their amps to 2 mono - but we do it ALL the time AND LIKE IT!

Hey Dukk,

I think you meant rate the AMPS at 2 Ohm mono.
