The plan is to put 3 15" XXX's inside my dodge intrepid. I'm going to take out the back seat and build a 12 cubic foot box thats going to be tuned to 28hz. The amps, batteries, caps and everything else are going to go into the trunk. Funds are limited however so its going to take awhile for the whole project to be finished but let me know what you guys think about it.

Thats gonna be around 150+ pounds of just subs, your gonna need to build a STRONG enclosure for them. Also if money is tight your going to HAVE to drop the caps(which are useless anyways) and get a HIGH OUTPUT Alternator atleast 240 amps with 4+ batteries.i'd get one from dominick irragi,he makes great alts and alot of people on the forum use his alts.( dominick@tds.net )believe me this will help you out WAAAAAAY more then any cap will.It will def. pound!!!!!!! Get some components that will be able to keep up with all the bass.

It's a 94 intrepid ES. I was trying to calculate how big of an alternator i would need and it seems i need a 350 amp one. Are my calculations correct? Also first I think im going to go with 3 12" XXX's since i already own one. I'm going to build the box in 3 pieces so that i can gradually upgrade it and not have to wait until i get all the subs, amps, etc. I'm going to build the first part of the box hopefully within the next 2 weeks. but dont worry, as long as it works out with 12" XXX's, the 15" XXX's will follow shortly. Oh yeah, and as for components I'm going to have Oz Audio Matrix Elite 5.25" up front. On the box's that will hold the subs I'm most likely going to get 2 pairs of the XXX 6.5" components. One pair directly behind the driver and one pair directly behind the passenger.

so are you just talking out of your ass or is there another reason why you havent answered what kind of power you are gonna be using?? , and with 3 xxx's you are gonna need alot more power than 350 amps.

Hmm, no im not talking out of my ass. I fully intend on putting at least 3 12" XXX's in the car, but if i need more than a 350 amp alternator than im not sure if i can do it.

With a 350 amp alt and a few extra batts im sure you will be fine.
I have a 200 amp alt, and 1 extra battery, and I am doing just fine with 2 Crossfire VR 2000d's.
And trust me...... just because they take a lot of power, doesnt mean you need to throw all that power at these subs.

You wont need a 300+ amp alternator, thats crazy. Get 4-5 yellow tops, a decent 200-250 amp alternator, you'll be good to go. I'm assuming your gonna have 4 amps correct? One per sub, and one for mid/highs? I would recommend only doing 12's with the space you have, heck I would only do 2 12's.

Yes, im gonna run 4 amps. just like u said one for the mids/highs and 3 for the subs. Actually i have plenty of space available actually so 3 12's would fit with room to spare.

Treps don't like all that weight, I'm sure my install was lighter than what yours is gonna be and my wheel well went over the wheel on the top. You're def gonna need some suspension boooosts if its an older one or you're gonna look like you're poppin a wheelie down the street.
