Topic: Radio shack subs hit 135db
Today I was helping some new friends get their cars setup for a DB drag competition and something really surprising happened. A guy with 2 10" Radio shack Optimus pro's in a 2.5^ft sealed enclosure hit a legal 135.0db at 55hz on my new termlab meter. Needless to say that I was completely amazed that 2 subs that only cost around $60 total could put up a good number. Funny thing was is that he put up a higher # than a guy running 3 JL-10W0's. I spent about 5 hours helping these guys turn there streetbeaters into lil spl machines, we found there freqs and I helped them get things setup correctly. The Optimus pro subs actually sounded decent, not what I would call a SQ sub but considering $ I was impressed. -------------------- H.O. Alternators

Looks Like I am not the only one willing to try the Rad Shack 10's. I have three in a wall of around 13 cubes tuned close to 33hz. Tell ya what. Those tens can play low and get semi loud. I have yet to get metered, but can say I am sure I will be close to 140 at 35hz. -------------------- OIE :/

sweet man, glad to here. I always talked about the optimus pro series stuff. I bought some 8's when partsexpress had a close out on them a while back. i built 3.4 cubic feet for 1 8" tuned to 35hz with like 50" of port. it got down to say the least with 200 watts. definently low 130's with it.http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/217862/3 found some 12's and been waiting for someone who want 6 12s for a good price. heres the 6 12's im selling the 12's if anyone want them --------------------www.cardomain.com/id/frito --FRITO
