Pioneer Premier TS-W1240C - 4th-order bandpass enclosure

Vr: 1.5 cubes
Vf: 1.25 cubes
Fb: 52 hz
Port area: 24"

 -

Blue is out-of-car response, and white is simulated in-car resopnse. Any opinions on this enclosure?

lol ,12db/octave filter acting as cabin gain

its good aslong as the cabin gain does actualy do that

id measure the speaker response
-out of car
-in car
see the difference
then plot the ACTUAL cabin gain not a theoretical ideal

Cheers!

It looks pretty good but I would tune it a bit higher for 2 reasons.
1) That box will allow the sub to over excurt from about 22Hz thru 30Hz.
2) I designed and built a 4th order BP for a friend with a single older pioneer, tuned to 53Hz, it didn't start to come alive until it got down to ~35Hz ... was really strong at ~25Hz.
I've never used WinISD but I know BB6 usually shows the "in car response" about 10Hz higher, so if it says it will peak from 40Hz to 50Hz it will usually be 30Hz to 40Hz.
I modeled up one for you (lime green) and added yours (violet) for comparison.
Mine is:
Chamber 1 - lower-freq.
Vb = 1.094 cu.ft
Fb = 55 Hz
F3 = 38.08 Hz
Fill = none
Chamber 2 - upper-freq.
Vb = 1.25 cu.ft
Fb = 59.5 Hz
F3 = 93.64 Hz
Fill = none
No. of Vents = 1
Vent shape = other
Vent ends = one flush
Av = 36 sq.in
Lv = 16.94 in

Either way I would like to know how it turns out.

The frequency response graph on my WinISD Pro looks nothing like what you posted for your box suggestion. For the out-of-car response there is a 7 db peak centered at 63hz. Do I want that??? I usually cross my sub over around there.

I dont use winisd so I cant see the 7db peak you're talking about but BB6 pro says it's relatively flat from ~49Hz to ~70Hz which incar usually shifts down about 10Hz so you can figure it's flat from ~39Hz to ~69Hz.
Do what you want. I dont know how acurate winisd is but I know BB6 is acurate. Was just trying to help out.
