man people need to read up on composites [Frown]

the strength from composites doesnt come from the resin but from the fibers or other material that you are ptuting the resin on.

why dont you glass the inside of your box with some quality glass? that would make it about a MILLION times stronger than rope and probably weight the same as soaking it in heavy ass resin.

resin is like glue, it doesnt really have strength itself, its just used to hold the fibers (of the rope) together so that they take the stress (this is NOT the whole picture just a super simplified version).

and glassing the inside of a box would be EASY since its all flat.

also don't use pieces of cloth stacked on each other, use solid pieces of cloth...aka LARGE pieces for maximum strength.

my friend let me borrow his makita right angle drill.. it can fit in the back where those rear subs mount. [Wink]

Oh, and the resin is hard by itself, make a brick of it and tell me it isn't hard.. [Roll Eyes]

and the rope with resin is really hard.. just gotta get the right type of rope is all. oh yah, and to glass the inside of a 40cu ft box would cost me a fortune.. unless you want to front the bill..... [Big Grin]

so very VERY zesty [Smile]

nothing like low-tuned, high SPL vehicles...friend of mine's van has 8 15's and about 2200W i THINK! nobody seems to know actual output on the amps he uses even tho they're built 20 miles north of us lol. Company is called Lunar...owner used to design amps for RF. anyway, he's got his tuned to 28-30Hz (one or the other) and it's greaaaat! (tony the tiger impression) He's doing about a 155-156 legal with the wall behind the first passenger bench seat (it's his work van also, has to haul people). So i'm sure you can get the SPL up on ViTrOx's...what note is he peaking at?

If you can figure a way to slide a divider between the subs it would stop the cancelation problems you will have . It will also tighten up the bass and give you a few db. I had a very simular set up. Before the divider and after the divider was a world of difrence. Still it looks cool and should hit mid to upper 150's.
