Ok so my friends 2 SE 12s just got here so this weekend we're going to make a box and hook them up to see how they sound. He has a jbl 1200.1. The box i was thinking of is 38x16x16...Just about 5cu in a common chamber box. Now we want to tune it to around 35. So we were going to use two 4inch ports in the middle of the box inbetween the subs...around 6-8 inches long each. I was told that 5cu would be good for two the SE's but my only concern is the tuning. Are two 4 inch ports around 7 inches long going to be ok? Or will that tune me to something other than 35hz. [Confused]

If you want it to be tuned to 35Hz, then go with 5.5" long ports

This is my box for my pair. PimpDaddy gave me a predesigned box model to follow for the subs.

It is tuned to 38 and plays most everything great. I wish I would have gone with a little bit lower tuning like 32. 38 is a little sloppier than I like.
I never got on a meter, but I have had mid - upper 140db systems and this is just as loud. I can feel my hair, lips, cheeks, and wee wee vibrate like crazy.
I am also in a trunk. The port looks weird in the last pic, but it is just the silver paint I put in the port. It ended up being a darn chrome. I changed it to black!
