Depends on the sub

why?- because each particular driver responds differently to each enclosure.

If you don't care about SQ, ported will almost always be louder. Best bet IMO is get a sub that works well ported so you have the output and the SQ.

Ported can sound good [Smile] I had a box tuned to 28hz and damn great SQ [Razz] Never had sealed though
