Is port displacement included by the program? If i put 5.3' as the box volume and it tells me to use a 2"x6"x12"l port will it be included in the box volume or do i have to add 1' to the 5.3'.....???

what u have to do is know what ur volume the sub requires sayyyyyy

6 cubes... then it tells u how long ur port needs to be and u add on that much volume as if there was no port hole...

so now u just have a cube thats bigger then before, and now u can just port the box....

so all ur doing is taking the displacement into account. see its easy!

ghost man, I believe what icewall was trying to say...

WinISD u put in a box volume...thats your air space...so if u put in 5.3 then 5.3 is the airspace and the port size they give u, u add to that 5.3 so your box will really be like 144cubic inches bigger cause of port displacement...

Humm...this is gonnna get tricky then...i will have to keep subtracting box area as i add to the port length till i get a match...

Ok....i was tuning wrong anyhow....i need to peak at 53hz.....so i will need a port that is 24" long and my box volume - port will be 3.73'....dam that was much more involved than i thought it would be....

im not sure if u still get this...

u put in 5.3 cubes...

then after u see what winisd tells u ur port length is u figure out ur ports total port VOLUME

so u add the 2 together

example:

5.3 + .7 for port... thats a 6 cube box but u dont put 6 cubes in winisd.... u just design the box as 6 cubes and put the port in that box.... see? simple.

What i did was drop my boxvolume as the port got longer till they came to 5.3' combind....i have a total of 5.3' to work withso a 3.73' box + 1.56' of port come to 5.29' + wood thickness for the port gives me 5.3'....
