Around 3000 watts to work with, I will get a little more soon. I like strokers because they have been around forever and it's pretty easy to Re-cone them around here But DD, accordingly to practically EVERYONE, is the best. Ive got an S-10 Blazer and this system is replacing my 2 Orion HCCA's. They have been good subs but I have beat them to hell for a while now and it's time for a change. So the Stroker or the 9917? Thanks a lot!

Two 15's vs a 17, both strong spl subs....I don't think the dd has a chance with both setups getting 3000 watts....The strokers should get louder, and will have better sq...

The 9917 is a much better SQ driver than the stroker, stroker doesn't even compare.

I haven't heard the 9917, but I have heard and installed a lot of DD products as well as I currently own a Stroker 15 and have heard a pair of Stroker 18s, and I must say, I would take the 9917 over a pair of Stroker 15s any day. The DD subs I have heard installed in a proper vented box have a much more agressive sound with more impact than the Stroker, and have much more extended response. The Stroker sounds neutral and detailed, but doesn't have the displacement capabilities to really pound out the lows like DD does IMO.

But the 9917 would sound good right? My whole goal is to Break 150 and still have decent SQ.

well i was looking into the same thing when i had my vlx-400. i was either going with 1 9917 or the 2 strokers. i went with the strokers because i would have more displacement and they are tried and true. just because dd has new tec. does not mean the stroker are out dated they were just ahead of there time and still bring the gold home right along the other companies now. i would go with the 2 strokers over the single 17. good luck

Of course it can. Just about any sub(not all) can take out another. It's all in the install and tuning frequencies.

Why not compare a 9917 to a Stroker 18. Then you got yourself a choice to make [Smile]
