Go for the 7" kevlar with the tweet. This is a fantastic combp in a bookshelf and should rock in a KP. This is exactly what we are doing in the Dakota R/T but with B&W 7" and FNQ tweet.

Well, on friday I ordered them. Went with advice of dealer, and the tech at Solen. I loved midbass/midrange of the ProAc 2.5 home speaker, it uses Scan Speak 6.5". Tech said it would be good in small enclosure, and is less fussy about crossovers than the Kevlar, in terms of flatening the frequency response.
So it's the Scan Speak Revelator tweet with Scan Speak 18w 8545 carbon fibre filled paper cone that Pro Ac uses. Almost went Exel 6.5. But it's probablly all in the install now.
Still trying to figure out a crossover. Seems electronic active biamp is more flexible in terms of beeing able to adjust crossover point. I have a 4 channel amp. So will maybe try it with PG mx3i 24 db per octive, Coustic Xm5e 18 db. But I want best SQ.
Thanks for your help. Most appreciated. Any more crossover advice would be devoured. At Madisound forum they seem to say passive is best over 100 or so Hz. Any car audio websites that discuss the topic: passive vs active. Most are for Home.

I love passives. They look cool and not just any sniff can make them work. What I don't like is the difficulty in changing frequencies! If you can borrow a good electronic Xover to find the right points and then go passive, that will save lots of time and headaches. I would still consider the active permanently though, since you can adjust levels easier (although you still can with your 4ch amp) and it gets pretty pricey to do 3rd and 4th order slopes with good passive parts! More than a Xover. The Coustic is as transparent a piece as I have seen. Definitely first rate!

Amazing how clean and transparent the Coustic is... I used to think everything by them was crap, then I owned a pair of their 5.25" mids (years ago) and they really sounded nice. I also owned a couple of they're crossovers and they make pretty nice electroincs, considering the price.

I've cherry picked a few things that Coustic builds well: Xovers (inexpensive and really flexible), their 10" HT woof, and their 6.5" HT woof. The components are decent too, but the tweets are kinda ugly. Their new preamp is decent too, and a real bargain. IMO their older amps were decent too, but I'm not too keen at all on the new ones...

Ok, so you decided on new drivers for solving your original problem of "Sound-stage" and "Imaging". Have you considered re-locating their positions? Especially the tweets, which are responsible for the above mentioned affliction :-) . Try velcro, or chewing gum/hot glue to hold a tweet in place, as you listen to it. Mount it when you have "Front Stage, rear fill, top center dash soundstage, and a focused center image". BTW, sounds like a nice choice of components.

Yes, I've been trying repositioning for months now and have only recently come to the conclusion that better drivers are required. By the way, I've found double-sided tape to be the best for relocation without leaving any "scars" on the trim of the car.

Like some others said, listen to all you can and go with what sounds good to you. I, personally have a set of JL Evo. XRs and absolutly love them. The Jl VRs are excellant also at a great price (just my opinion).

I really like the sound of Infinity's beta subs, and they have reviewed very well. I have never heard the components, unfortunately. The new Kappa Perfect components should kick all kinds of ass.
