High output alts. Why not just rebuild your stock alt with a high output kit ??? My first job was rebuilding starters and alts. Granted, this was over 25 years ago, but if memory serves me correct, we could convert a 85 amp alt to 180 amp alt for a fraction of the price of a 180 amp alt from the local parts stores. I think I'll have too look into that. See what a high output kit runs for now a days.

I am doing that right now with two factory alternators and turning them into High outputs. Another option you can do is look into the Batcap 400 I used one in a customers vehicle that was dimming really badly and it solved the problem for him and it will be in the price range you wanted.
