Ok guys, I have two amps that I really have no idea what my power ratings are.
My first amp is a older Rockford 200x2, now I know that the book says this little guy will put out 400 watts. What is the actual power? And can it handle a 2ohm mono load and run it all day?

My second amps is a old Soundstream MC300. It is rated at 300 watts does anyone know if this amp is a good amp? Its brand new, my boss gave it to me because it had been sitting on the shelf and collecting dust for a few years now. Any info on this amp would be great, because I know how the newer Soundstreams had problems with heating up, were these models known for any sort of problems also?
Any info you guys can give me would be great!

The 200x2 amplifier (100x2 at 4 ohm stereo) is rated for 400x1 at 4 ohm mono.. 14.4v power should be around 700, slightly more (actual average spec is 748 if memory serves) and those x2 amps are famous for taking 2 ohm mono quite well, where they will supply almost 900 or so at 14.4v. I've run them, and 200.2's, this way before with very few (read: Nono) problems.

Hmmmm... SoundStream's older stuff I'm not too sure about, so I will refrain from giving you my 2 cents

I had a 200x2 for about 2.5 years, and ran it at 2 ohm mono. It ran great, ran MUCH cooler than the SS 700s (could fry eggs on that thing at 2 ohm mono) that I replaced, and was louder also. I don't know about all day, but I ran it for 4 hours at high volume with no problem (needed music working on my mom's property, boom box wasn't going to cut it).
