my orion amp is toast. so right now i have a us acoustics 4 chan amp bridged pushing my comp x. it doesnt sound all that great. im building a 1 cf sealed box for the sub tonight (its in 2.5 cubic ft ported box now built for my old hcca) but was wondering.....could i get more power out of the 4 chan amp if i bridged it across all 4 channels? right now i have it just bridged across the first two. it doesnt seem like a very good idea to me but was just wondering if anyone had ever tried it. it would only be for like 2-3 weeks like this. till i get a new amp.
i just looked it up and the amp is only 160 watts bridged over 2 chans. could i run 1 set of channels bridged to 1 voice coil and 1 set to the other. and try to match them up exactly. or is that not a good idea?

you can. but realy depends on the ohm load the sub is! if its DVC 4ohms that would be perfect. but dont use any boosts. and set everything the SAME!!!! but if the sub is 2ohm dvc. it will fry that amp realy easy..... but the subs gotta be a DVC. good luck. i know how it is when something fries. you almost cry when the bass stops and everytime you get in your car.LOL

Yeah, so you would tri mode the front and rear channels for a 6 channel setup.. it could work.. just like it was said before the sub should be DVC 4ohm and you need to use a choke coil to x-over the sub as well...
