For some reason I am getting a popping/clicking noise through my 6.5 components. I just reinstalled my pioneer 7300 h/u and when at high volume 50/65 I am getting a popping/clicking noise that is coming through the speakers. The speakers are not being over powered as I used to run this same setup in my truck with no problem. All settings on h/u are on flat. H/u should not be clipping very much. One thing I noticed was if I adjust the balance all the way to one side every once and a while (5 sec) the speaker that isn’t playing makes a loud popping/clicking noise. Both speakers may be making the noise but it is obvious on the one that is not playing. It does not happen on certain notes but randomly.

What do you think is the problem? Could it be the ground, I think my ground may be a little heady as I tried to hook it up through the factory wiring harness.

Could be the ground. How about some more vitals like is the head unit powering the 6.5s? Is it seperates? If so, wheres the x-over and each driver mounted?

Ya, sorry somehow i figured everyone must know.

Yes the h/u is powering the crystal 6.5 cpe components. Each side is using the crystal crossover. The crossovers are in the doors which have been sound deadened with 3 layers and sealed with aluminum tape and sound deadening. The mids are also in the factory door locations.

In one door i made a door pod for the mid. I havent gotten to the other door. Both mids in both doors make this noise.

As i said before, this same setup did not have this problem in my truck. In my truck i never had this problem even with h/u at higher volumes.

are you playing MP3's? I noticed that MP3's have a lot of artifacts & are not very "clean".

Yea I kinda have the same prob, I know its not from over powering because I use to have the same speakers on a amp with alot more power, than the H/U puts out, so why are the speakers distorting
