Is there an equation or some way to determine what kind of fuse I need for my project? I'm looking for a fused distribution block that will input a one or two gauge wire and output one four gauge wire (for 600 watt class D subwoofer amp) and one eight gauge wire (for my speaker amp, a PPI PC450 50x4 watts). How can I determine what kind of fuse I should use?

I would use like 20 or 40 amps Higher then the onbord Fuse on the amp. If its a 160 amp on bord fuse then use a 200 ANL fuse. if its 40 amps then go for a 60-80 amp fuse. If you keep on poping fuses then make sure every thing is wired right and just go up in 10 amp ratings untill it stops blowing. But dont go below the rating on the amp.
