Since our systems put a lot of strain on our electrical systems how would this work on a hybrid car?

I bet its not legal to use the hybrid batteries to power the sytem too. Think about it...they would dominate all the street classes.

Get a Prius loud...LMAO

I think hybird cars can do better b/c they have a generator, imagine when your voltage gets low and the gas motor kicks in to serve your amps right all the way to 14V, and we're not talking about just a 200 amp alternator here.

IMO electric cars are prefect for loud stereo as long as it doesn't need to go anywhere fast.

600V / 14V = 42 amplifiers running @ 14V, that's hell of a lot of power!

Hybrids SUCK for systems. They have something like a spare 10 amps.

Realistically, not easy to put a stereo in there since they aren't built for extra amperage. People have attempted, no one has followed through with it yet because of the hurdles...at least not a system that would be considered by 99% of the members here.

they do use 200+ volt battery packs I believe, and there's no easy way to run a 12 volt amp off this, unless you use the 200volts for the amplifiers voltage rails (+-100volts [Wink] )

Old post, but you could use that 600v directly for your B+ on a tube setup. You'd pretty much need to use 8 ohm speakers though.

It would create for an interesting power supply.
