I am only 17 and I want the best sounding stereo in my area, amonst the kids, so what should I go... talking to people on here, I know I will go 5 1/4 compnents instead of 6 * 9s, b what kind... I like the Fanatix Q's, but MB Quart arwe niec too... how about Polk

Keep it real man. Some don't recommend mixing different components, so go with the rockford ones. They sound great, and are reasonably priced too.

Have fun

I'd have to suggest MB Quart. Nobody has ever gotten into my car and told me it didn't sound great, with just a 6.5" two way component set in stock locations. They sound great with all kinds of music -- classical, metal, rap, jazz, techno, you name it (I listen to everything).

There are other good brands out there, though... Listen to as many as you can (and then go back and listen to them all again) and make your choice.

MB Quarts are very good speakers everyone has great things to say about them....they are although an expensive speaker...be ready to drop some money on anything that is worth its reviews. Also Boston Acoustics makes a very nice line of components. i have the pro comp 6.5 set and they sound great....head to head i picked the bostons over the mb quarts because the quarts tweeter sounded a little harsh to me......but that says nothing about how well the cars interior is suited for any one set.

I would drop the bread on RF RNQs for the fronts and a set of RF coaxials for the rear. Make sure to run the fronts off an amp, the rears are fine off the deck.

Dukk, I don't think you understand, I am not looking for my system to be crappy.... coaxial in the back, especially by RF would be gay... coaxial by rockford are terribl.... that is why I am going with components

Have you heard the '99 coaxials?? Best ones in my board for the money.....

Hey, I'm just trying to save you a little cash on some very unimportant speakers. I've been setting up winning IASCA systems for 10 years and IF they even have rear fill it is never anything better than a coax.

HEY, DUKK, I reread what I wrote and I sounded like a bitch, but I did not mean to come across as one.....

I know you know a lot and all, but wehat I am saying is I want it to sound good for all 4 passengers, not just me,..... judges for IASCA worry about sound in the front two seats... who cares about passengers... read above it told you that....

Anyhow... the Coaxial 99 by RF, like the new three 6 * 9 are inexpensive and cheaply made. I mean, infinity Kappa and MB Quarts sound better, in the 6*9 department, better quality. RF is getting up there but there coaxial's still stink.... plus I have trouble purchasing anything that you can buy at Best Buy..... FANATIC Q are not there!

the fosgate mids and tweets are nice, so a the two ways, go give em a try. I have no rear fill in my car, I dont think you will need it. that's 90 bucks that you can spend on a good component set. I know about saving money I am the self proclaimed king of budget audio.

Well if you really don't like the coaxials then only pick up the FNPs. It just really is a shame to waste hard earned money back there.
Never even listened to the 6x9s, although we do have them. I was basing my opinion on the 6.5s and 5.25s.....

IMO from what i have read, coaxials in the back. Three-ways are pointless because you want the sound stage up front. I would probably have to agree on Fosgates because of the nice stuff i hear about them. Even though i havent heard them, just hearing about Techs car is enough to make a beliver outa me.

I know you had good intentions Ben, but with all due respect to the boys at Rockford, I don't think it is RF that makes techs car what it is. I'm pretty sure he could be running most any line of gear and still be kicking major ass.

Not dissing RF, just respecting the tech

I say, go ahead and blow your money on the best damn component set you can find. I hear orions concept components are very nice. Maybe a nice set of jensens or even better some pyramids, with the motorola tweeters.

Well, hehe of course it IS techs fine ability to be able to place the speakers, and tune and tweek the system to get its max performance. Like people say, its all in the install. But! If he choose to use RF, then he would make a fine choice. But also you probably can get the same desired output from any other speakers as long as they are placed in the vehicle correctly.
Right??
