Im going to put 3 12" subs in trunk and with the box would it be better to have the subs firing to the cab of the vehicle or the back of the car? What is the difference between the two? Better sq and spl one way or the other? Thanks all

I have 3 tens in a sealed box in the trunk of
a honda civic coupe, the box is facing towards the back of the car. This may sound weird but when I have the system on
and pop the trunk, the bass is louder. Any suggestions to why this is???

Face the license plate, you get the "bounce-back" of the wave hitting the body of the car. You could port the trunk (not the box, unless ported box is called for) through the rear-deck where your 6x9s or 6.5s are. A good 4" port or 2 3" ports should do fine, but not necessary.

Not sure how much this will help the spl catagory, but it sounds better, my opinion.

I have 8 10's in my trunk

They're all facing different directions.

4 up
2 back
2 to the sides

It sounds good to me. I figured I'd have big cancellation problems..but it sounds fine(and loud!! ).

For some reason my box design reduced my trunk noise by about 75%. I don't understand that..but I'm glad. don't have to dynamat it now
