JMO Don't run the MTX 2300 below 4 ohm mono.
You wont have enough power to effectively push 3 15" solos so go with a different driver. JL among, others come to mind. Ported too. (Gratuitous Dukk suggestion hehe)

Stupid question......since I've been outa the loop for so long. But, when did Solos become a no-no to install? Last year and the year before they were the talk of the town *sigh* it all changes so fast.
Strokers, DVCs, MTX 5&7ks, and JLs still good to look into? I know JLs will always be good, but what of the others? Not that I could afford to do an SPL system, but I've always liked the sound of the MTX 5k and JL W0 and W1s.
Thanks

i had my 2300 running at 2 ohm mono for 8 months never had a problem. i have heard a few things about CMP-15's but i really don't know much about them. all i want are 3 1'5 and there are so may different name brands. i had a JL audio 15wo and i trading it for 2 jbl 10's i really didn't like the speaker at all.so what esle do you guys suggest for some thing around say 200-300 a speaker?

CV Vegas are nice from the demos I've heard. RF DVCs always get rave reviews. I've also liked the Orion XTR3s that I've listened to. JL W3s and W6s are always nice, no matter what size you go with. Bostons are nice, but probably in the same price range as are W6s, which I think is outside of the 300 dollar parameter.
Much luck,
