First post here so hopefully can gain knowledge from this forum as well as the other various ones around. I plan to go with 2x 12" SDC2.5's with either an eD nine.1 or AQ 1200d to power them. Max dimensions for the box is 35"width and 14" height and depth it can go pretty much as far as necessary. 35wide and 14high would pretty much seal off the trunk. It will be aeroported tuned to 38hz. So should i build it maybe 32" wide and 14" high and face it towards the rear. Or should i build it 35"wide 14" high and face it forwards and seal it off from the trunk... Best way to seal off the trunk? MDF? Expanding foam? both? sound deadener?

Depends on if your going for spl or just mad bass, I find facing back even in a ported box like what your describing can seem louder faced back but give lower spl score. However sealing off from the trunk and facing forward isn't as loud to my ear but yeilds higher spl.

Yea thats what i've been reading. I might have it metered once its all done and have it metered both ways just to see what kinda numbers to see if i could get into a few local audio comps. and turn it around for comps and have someway to seal it off when necessary.
