Alright i'm brand new at this spl competition thing. I know some things but not a whole lot, but i willing to learn. I've got a 95 mustang and I'm trying to figure out how to start my build and what subs/amps im going to be running in the super street division seeing how the only way to have any space is to have a wall. I'm not sure what to do where to start or anything like that. My topic is kind of scattered but i don't know much or where to start. If someone could show me a procedure on what to do that would be appreciated thanks.

I would do some searching on mustangs near your year, and try look at some pics of what others have done and get an idea of what you want.

It'll be easier to determine what kind of equipment you want to go with(in your budget of course!) and what kind of goals to set for yourself.

You came to the right place though, there's a ton of experience here.

I would consider Class D amps for your subs as you'll learn about different types or class of amplifier circuitry. ClassD amps are by far the most efficient for subwoofer powering and about the cheapest to operate.

First, I would measure your car from the "B-Pillar" back to the trunk area and get an idea of how much volume your car has to offer your sub enclosure. If your going to go with a wall then you might want to remove all rear seating and car equipment that will inhibit your building. Just don't remove any safety equipment like seat belts!

From there then measure top to bottom, left to right at the points that stick out the most and as deep into the trunk area as possible. You'll have three measurements when your done. Like 45" wide(left to right) 32" tall(top to bottom) and 35"deep(from b-pillar back)

So 32" x 45" x 35" (total) / 1728 will give you a rough idea of howmuch volume you have to work with.

Well then a small list of sub manufactorer's I can think of is:
www.ficaraudio.com
www.ascendantaudio.com
www.ddaudio.com
www.americanbassusa.com
www.t3audio.com

This list should get you started! all of these companies make great products, and some are offering deals to join them as a competitor/promoter like T3 audio. But you have to run there equipment so subs, and amps.
