i was wondering if any of you SQ guys use these and what you thought are on them? likes-dislikes? what exactly is the best sounding box what size? ported sealed? also does anyone use the eclipse point source drivers? i was looking to get either one 15 or 2 10's. i have a crossfire 602 limited edition which i would like to keep since only 500 were made. i have a 95 probe GT if that helps

Well the .9 cubic feet would only be good for the 12", for the 10" you'd prolly want to go for a .5 cubic foot box. that's what Eclipse claims is the optimum enclosure size. you should also go with a custom sealed box that is AIR TIGHT. trust me on that one. anything else and you WILL get cone noise.I'm not sure about the 15"s haven't sold any yet also you should go w/at least 3/4" mdf to construct the enclosure. i recomend 1" mdf although it's prolly unnessesary.

That wasnt a volume of 0.9 cu/ft that was the Q of the box... For a 12 I think its actually less than 0.9ccu/ft per sub... Not to sure so don't quote me...

With the 88 series subs, basically just build a box big enough to house the woofer and let the back of the speaker vent good. That is about all you can do with the size of those magnets. Seriously, I have played with those subs a little (extremely low bass in a 1 to 1.25 cu. ft. box.)I would recommend putting them in a .8 or .9 sealed box, about the same size as the Solo's from Kicker. If you can get ahold of Termpro, figure out a vented enclosure for them. Some speakers don't like ported boxes, but every speaker can be tuned to a person's liking. It may not be reasonable to build, but all speakers can be ported and sound good. Hell I ported a set of Kicker CompVR's one time and they pounded, but Kicker strongly suggests the use of a sealed box for them. Also, you might check into a bandpass enclosure. Try all of these, and which ever one sounds the best, use it.

I'd be forced ( ) to agree with alrile here- If you can port them, do it, because those subs just SOAK up power... Very high on output, but VERY inefficient- you could harness some of that output with a ported box. Mine are sealed, .9 cubic foot each, (8812.6) and they sound very good, and hit hard.
