Quick question: I have a couple of spare Kicker KX150.2 amplifiers, and will have a new vehicle shortly. I'm considering leaving the factory radio in the car, and running the speaker outputs from the factory radio to the high-level inputs on the amps, dropping the gain all the way, and just using the preamp outputs on the amplifiers to go to my Zapco amps. Will this work, or would I be better off putting an aftermarket radio in? Thanks.

Definatly go for a new aftermarket headunit!

The Kicker amps will cause plenty of noise issues if you use them the way you intend to use them.

If you want to keep the factory headunit, buy a high quality LOC.

IMO if you're gonna use a high-quality equipment you might as well use HQ stuff all around, doesn't make sense to hook a Alpine HU to a Pyramid amp running a W7 right?

Definitely get a new headunit, otherwise you won't get the best out of your Zapco amp!

btw amplifiers still draw current when idling, so you'll be wasting power if you don't use it to power speakers.
