Does anyone know of a pair of 6x9's that have rubber surrounds? Only ones i know of are by Eclipse. My Optimus (whoo hoo! 6x9's surround is cracked and is seperateing. Probably cuz of their mounting on the parcel shelf which is exposed to UV light all the time from the sun. I have two choices, buy a new pair of Optimus, or get rubber sruounded speakers. I like the way tehy sound being 3-ways. Bass is the best i have ever heard from 6x9's. Would like grille cloth on the metal grille that covers them block UV light or not?

Covering them will do two things for you. 1 It will help on the UV problem. 2 You buddies will not know they are Optimus. Evey one will say Dode, Man what do you have for subs. This car rocks! Then you say no sub just 6X9's do you what to buy them for ow lets say $100+.

I believe some Pioneer 6X9s have rubber surrounds. I used to have some Pioneer 6X8s that did.

Whoa... hehe i never thought of it for that reason! kick arse! i will just buy a new pair of Optimus ones and then some cloth to cover them. I dont really much care for anything from Pioneer. But tahts just my opinion. I was though, hopeing PG made their QX series 6x9's with rubber surrounds. I still need to call Car Phonics and find out though. Its too bad everyone doesnt make them with rubber, saves alot of money in the end.

The Infinity Kappa 6x9's have rubber surrounds, and they sound damn good, even off of the HU amp. I've had mine for around 2 years now, and they still sound good.
