Hmmmm - never seen the guy before, but I bet he's one of the types that think he can start his own car audio competition association and be successful. He also looks like the type to put some oversized subs in a Hearse or something.
....eh,it'll never catch on.

I've never imagined there were car audio spl competions back in 85! dang! if we had cars in suitland back in '85 we'd get beat down by cops, lol!!I remember back from 79 to 85 they had "boom box" competitions during the break dance contests. I wonder what spl score he hit ??

Seriously, how competitive would he be with any of his vehicles in the classes we have today? As I understand it that Hearse was his pride and joy and daily driven. He built it becuase it looked cool and to be loud. With our rules the way they are if he showed up as a newbie it would be in Moster class doing 140dB. How is a newbie supposed to get into it?

Wow.... Yes.

If I showed up to Game 7 of the World Series and was found to have a Corked Bat in pre game warm-ups, what would happen to me? Even if I said that I 'didnt see it in the rulebook, my bad'.

Just because the metering system was only capable of recording up to 140 dB, does not mean that 140 was the loudest...it only means that they did not have the techology to measure above the 140 limit. Maybe Wayne achieved a higher SPL, but with the limitation of the metering system, we may never know how much louder he actually was.
Also, the original reason for installing loud stereo into his cars was to meet girls. It seems to have worked...
I assume that once he realized his own potential, and the potential of using loud stereos to meet girls, he was "hooked".
The Terminator is still an exciting vehicle to see, and still attracts the attention of many (male and female) spectators. If you look at the technology that Wayne implemented into the Terminator, and the overall layout of the design, the Teminator remains an award winning vehicle (even by todays standards).

I didn't say it wasnt impressive. My point is that it was top of the line by the standards of the day but dB Drags classes have gotten to the point that even it wouldnt be competitive today. We need to get back to the roots of competition with beginers in mind.
