The reason that amp quantity limitations were introduced was to keep the cost of Street systems reasonable. Unfortunately, several manufacturers introduced very large amps (that produced large amounts of power). These amps are quite expensive. We also introduced conductor limits. This effectively limited the number of channels that one of these large amps could have.
Manufacturers have also been circumventing the amp quantity limit by putting multiple amps in a single heatsink. Fortunately, the conductor limit once again kept things under control.
To answer your question, removing the amp quantity limitation would allow competitors to use multiple "cheap" amps to get the same power as the single "monster" amp.
I am interested to hear your perspective on how this is bad for Street competitors as compared to how the rules were in 2004.

I think it will make street cheaper. Say I was to buy 4 crossfire 1000d's for 800 bucks. On 12v that would be around 5000-6000 watts. Or I can buy a crown for 2-5000 dolars. Same Power for alot more money.. It makes more sense to allow unlimited conductors and unlimtied amps

a "wall" enclosure in a street max vehicle that isnt attached to the roof and sides of the vehicle wouldnt be very safe!

why wouldnt it be.? It can still be secured to the floor.

wall for street max, i built a box outside car and inserted incar , put a trim panel around it and then i used exspanding foam to control ceilng vibration, but roof still flexes , trim panels are secured in, would this deem the car illegal or legal for street max , wieght is a serious issue here i use this car for daily driver ..............
