I was just wondering why every year they make competitors in the low class buy more and more **** in order to stay competitive...now in street B you only need to buy 4 $1000 amplifiers in order to have a chance at being near the top. I don't know why they keep increasing the amount of **** you need to buy

They have 1000D's going for $165.00 shipped, times that by 4 and you got $660 and you will be up there, not the top but you will be up there. 1 Battery can only do so much.

Yo Homie, How are the newbies going to react when they go against you. "man i cant keep up with those guys, i am wasting my time" a few may say " i got to get some of those amps so i can win"
i think more will get discouraged than put up a fight for victory.
Its all good.
Have Fun, Learn, Get Louder, WINNING !!! thats what its all about

yeah exactly this will chase even more newbies away from the sport...just what we needed. No I didn't buy equipment yet and I probobly won't because I can't afford to buy 4 amps. The street class will only bring in people if it is realistic...let me tell you guys that going to a show as a newbie and seeing 10 CRXs each with 4 big strappable amps isn't going to make anyone want to join the sport

Last years rules atleast kept the cars looking "streetable".
This year, 8 amps and 2 batteries?
If I went to a shop had 8 amps and only 2 batteries fitted I would go mad, hardly the right way forward.
But then I guess we see cars everyday with 2 15s in the boot and 8 amps running them.

How is it going to chase away newbies when we have Mini Street.

Everyone is forgetting about Tim Phillips db drag World Finals victory about 2 years ago. Used half the amps that other competitors in his class. Also used dvc subs instead of Quads. Now thats doing your homework. Didnt a Zapco 9.0 win 2nd in street A (2004)?

THANK YOU!!! i KNEW at least some poeple got it!
there is mini street this year FOR NEWBIES and also bass race, for the TRUE street guys in thier daily drivers.
lets also not forget something.....
the rule says you CAN run 4 amps, doesnt mean you HAVE to run 4 amps.
i am going to continue with my current 2 amps and 2 12's. i was debating whetehr to compete this year or not, the new rules have made my mind up for me. i dont intend to WIN world finals, but i certainly expect to make it there, and be competetive by time i get there.
i consider myself a newbie. i started installing 20 years ago. had my own shop 10 years ago. but i have only competed in 4 db drag evetns and only made eliminations in 2 of them so yeah i consider myself a newb, and im not chased away by the new amp rules.
C5 - i like that attitude. thats exactly how i feel. WIN or LOSE i WILL have FUN !!!

I am not too full of myself to sit down with a newbie and give them some pointers. I once felt the same way... look at my DB Drag stats page there was a day I didn't have enough power to break a 150 in Street C! Much less Street B! but I spent 2 years in USACi watching and learning and tweaking my car before I spent $2200 on 2 USED 9.0's and $1400 on 2 9912's to compete in Street B. But when I got into it I took the knowledge I had from the 2 years of building with smaller amounts of power and brought it into Db Drag.
I am soo excited about this year.
I will have less money tied into this set-up than last year, and I think it will be even stronger.
You can be competitive in Street B for under $3000.

I think the rules are great,no more complaining about what amps are legal or not. Why do all of you look at the negitive ALL THE TIME. you are the ones that even if you were givin the oppertunity to write the rules yourselves you would still complain when they came out. I say GET LOUD OR GO HOME!
