In the street class, what is considered to be a High Output Alternator?? I know it means that you should have an OEM alternator but what if you have an old car, things break down and must be replaced. I had my alternator go bad and I had to buy one from Autozone, now would that mean I had and ILLEGAL aftermarket alternator???? I guess my question is, if you can use and aftermarket alternator because your factory one went bad, is there a limit to how many amps you can have in order for you to still be in Street class Thanks to all that reply.

So what if when I bought my blazer it already had and aftermarket alt in it. I don't know what the factory alt put out, someone told me between 65-75 amps, the one that is in there is 90 or 95 amps, can't remember. SO would that mean I have and illegal alt for the street class???
