In 2002, there will be 4 divisions of competition.

1. Novice Division - only applicable at local shows. Newcomers only. Please disregard this division when discussing or voting on rules propositions.

2. Street Division - Same as last season with the exception of a few new rules that you are currently voting on.

3. Super Street Division - Same as last season.

4. Extreme Division - Same as last season.

There are no Ama Street or Pro Street divisions.

I thought I would put this up to clear any confusion with regards to divisions of competition.

and wayne, you are not allowing pro's to compete in the street division so why even have it?

I say leave the novice class to the show promoter so he can implement the right classes to maximize his number of entrys. I know I would have many more competitors if there was a 1 woofer novice class and i could namemany others. I know at all my db drag shows there wil also be a "King of the streets class" Where all seoson long the competitors will be eligable for the King of the strret title and he who has it at the end of the season will take home the 8ft trophey. Hope to see you all very soon in the lanes

I would assume that the local retailer will have alot of flexibility with this class, seeing as how it has not national implications(points, etc)

Once again, you are trying to insert something into the rules that does not exist. The current rules state that anyone can compete in street class except for YOU and the other 15-30 people who went to finals last year in street 1-2 and street 3-4. PLAIN AND SIMPLE !!!

I thought it was Street competitors "Invited" to finals had to move up. The "Novice" class should have no bearing on this rule, They should all move up to SS so we can see some new blood in the Street Classes. I know some competitors are looking at it as they can now stay in Street due to the new Novice class, but being it only applies to Local shows and not 2x or 3x shows i would belive at Multi point events they would be in SS due to the "existing" rule.
Hell I don't know this is going to be interesting or a real pain.

Are the classes staying the same as last season or are you going to combine some extreme classes?

Thats funny, no I actually could care less if he stayed in street 1-2 or not. I'm gonna do street 3-4 this year if I do anything at all.

Quick question not quite on topic, but wasn't clear (at least in my mind)...

A PRO competitor is one who is sponsored or gets equipment at or below dealer. Obviously this person isn't allowed in the very bottom newbie class, but what about what is deemed last years street, and more importantly are "PRO" competitors allowed in super street?

Thanks,
Steve
