You all remember me installing into my fe-ant-cy's car the 4 10"Vegas ported and me having the 8 10"Vegas sealed. Both with equal power per sub. Well this last weekend she got her first SPL reading of 140.5. Mine this weekend was 143. You might have picked up on this in the thread marked "Hay thumpin". I just bought a new truck with a full walk through for the system I have in the Ford right now. Now I will have all the room I need to install that box for all 8 of them Vegas in a ported enclosure. Question With a wall in a walk through where do you put the front face of in. Dose a guy try to install it so the rubber boot dose not show, Or do you need to keep in the bead because of the flex of the truck? Also with a wall dose flat wall get higher numbers then one like that in my ranger. If you never seen it see it now,

I like the zigg zagg look of these boxes I have built and I always get great responces to them too. Even though this whole year I never placed above 5th place and a 145.0db score People always crowd around. And even with that your opinions might not count. I like the Zigg Zagg and it is a challenge to make. Unless you can give me hard evidence that flat produces higher numbers.

First off keep the box in the bed of the truck. It is rather difficult to build it partly in the bed and the truck. To do that you would have to take into consideration how much the bed flexes in every direction and tyhen compensate for the box being that much smaller when it goes throught the hole. If done improperly the bed won't be able to shift properly and hit the box. Eventually destroying something. I would use a flat wall if I was you. Any angle can created standing waves which can hurt your score treamendously. A flat wall can do the same, but it is gonna proabaly a little less severe. It also let's the drivers fire in the same direction as the rest of them and the vents will to. Something else, how is your girlfriends subs setup. I had four XMAX 10's in the trunk of my neon and was pulling 143's all day with less than RMS power and a sealed box. The vega are a louder sub than the XMAX's to. Just wondering why such a score when 4 ten's can do alot more than that, like 153.2 with only 6.

I would say capple that you and your significant others cars are about even if she had the same power as you she would have scored about 3 Db higher putting her around 143-143.5 See porting does help Big Time. But I think you can improve on those scores a little.

If at possible put them in a flat box straight up and down, firing into the back of the trunk. Do this only if you have plenty of room for bass to travel around the box into the cabin. Looking at that design you probably do have some cancellation. Just a thought though.
