After a hot and humid trip to Pittsburgh I am finally back at dB Drag Racing HQ.
Overall, the show was pretty good. We had 141 competitors participating in our 9 standard classes. Unfortunately, five of the vehicles that showed required serious work before they could compete. Two of these vehicles had floor build-ups that precluded the driver from sitting in a traditional manner. Two vehicles had to remove covers from their foot-wells, and a fifth had to tear out material from the foot well area so that they could sit inside.
We had some very, very strong competitors at Pittsburgh. There was some really exciting activity in the Ama 1-2 Woofer class. In fact, there were 2 competitors competing in this class who were potential record breakers.
The initial winner was the new Team Hertz vehicle. This car is very, very solid and incredibly loud. During competition, they easily shattered the old record. Unfortunately, during the impound and audit process, they got caught on a couple of technicalities which resulted in disqualification. I have no doubt that they will be back even stronger at Charlotte.
Kenwood did a great job and I want to thank everyone who attended.
